Articulation and PhonologicalSome patients (especially youth) may face challenges with reading comprehension, forming speech, or even developing their voice. This can be associated with structural and motor-based difficulties, such as Cleft Palate, Apraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome and other chromosomal disorders.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a type of brain damage that occurs when an external force causes the brain to dysfunction. It can result from a blow, bump, jolt, or penetrating injury to the head. TBIs can range from mild (such as a concussion) to severe, potentially causing long-term or permanent impairments in physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral functioning.

Hearing ImpairmentsHearing impairments refer to how well a person can hear speech, environmental sounds, or both. Hearing loss can be congenital (present at birth) or acquired later in life due to various factors and situations. There are multiple forms of this impairment such as Conductive hearing Loss (Ear Infections), Sensorineural hearing Loss (Cochlea, Auditory Nerve), or a mix of both.

ABC From The Beginning

ABC Kids and Adults Speech Therapy was founded by Sharon S. Coale, who has a Masters of Education of the Deaf and a Masters of Science in Speech Pathology and was awarded with the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Sharon’s clinical experience has included the treatment of a wide range of disorders and severity levels. She has extensive experience with articulation disorders, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury, hearing impairment, cochlear implants, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, and other congenital and genetic disorders. Sharon strives to build strong relationships with clients and creates a supportive environment where clients feel heard and motivated. Her treatment Philosophy includes a comprehensive approach utilizing multiple techniqaues and approaches to aid in successful improvement. |

We offer a safe, comfortable, and professional environment to meet the needs of anyone who walks through our doors.
